Getting Around Houston
Marriott Hotel Van:
The hotel has a complimentary van that will transport guests to locations within a five-mile radius. It may be a good option for traveling to Rice Village. The van is first-come, first-served. Inquire at the Marriott front desk for further information.
Public Transportation (METRORail):
The METRORail is a light-rail line that links downtown, midtown, the Museum District, and the Medical Center (including Rice University). The rail is only one line, so navigating the system is easy and affordable ($1.25 one way). The closest rail station to the Houston Marriott at the Medical Center is the Dryden/TMC station and makes travel to downtown and the museum district very convenient. A description of average travel time on the METRORail and a map of the line are available here: http://www.hou-metro.harris.tx.us/SchedulesMaps/Pdfs/700-redline.pdf.
Taxi:
Taxis may also be a viable alternative to the METRORail and the hotel van if you want to pursue dining options or entertainment attractions outside the radius of those options. Please ask the front desk at the hotel to call you a taxi.
