Driving: How to Get to Rice University

From the North (US 59 North of Downtown or from IAH)

Take 59 South to the Greenbriar/Shepherd exit.  Turn left under US 59 onto Greenbriar.  From Greenbriar, turn left onto Rice Blvd. Turn right into the University at Entrance 20.  At the second stop sign, the Rice Memorial Center (RMC) / Ley Student Center is across the intersection on your left.  Turn right to proceed to the Central Campus Parking Garage.

From the South (US 45 South of 610 or from Hobby)

Take 45 North to 610 West.  Proceed approximately 8 miles past the Astrodome to the Main Street (Alt. 90) exit.  Turn right onto South Main.  Proceed 2.5 miles (at fork with Old Spanish Trail keep left to stay on South Main).  Turn left on University Boulevard.  Turn right at Entrance 8 (Stockton).  At the second stop sign, turn left.  At the next stop sign, the Rice Memorial Center (RMC) / Ley Student Center is on your right.  Turn left to proceed to the Central Campus Parking Garage.

From the East Or West (I-10 East or West of US 59)

Take I-10 to 59 South.  Take 59 South to the Greenbriar/Shepherd exit.  Turn left under US 59 onto Greenbriar.  From Greenbriar, turn left onto Rice Boulevard. Turn right into the University at Entrance 20.  At the second stop sign, the Rice Memorial Center (RMC) / Ley Student Center is across the intersection on your left. Turn right to proceed to the Central Campus Parking Garage.

Parking at Rice University:

The Central Campus Garage is the best place to park for attending the conference in Baker Hall.  Parking in the Central Campus Garage costs $1 per 12 minutes or $11 per day.

On the parking map (http://www.rice.edu/maps/maps.html), the Central Campus Parking Garage (closest parking) is located under the Jones Graduate School of Business and indicated by the green circle and the Center for Civic Engagement is indicated by the red circle.  After turning from the Rice Memorial Center (RMC) / Ley Student Center, take the first left into the Central Campus Parking Garage.  After parking, take either elevator to the ground level and walk across the street into the Rice Memorial Center (RMC) / Ley Student Center.
